Program Outcomes

Traffic and Transportation Psychology Master’s Programs aims each student to have the following knowledge, ability, skills and behaviours:

  1. Mastering the most recent and advanced research and analysis techniques and methods of psychology.
  2. Mastering the latest literature, research and analysis techniques and methods, theories and models on his/her study topic of traffic and transportation psychology.
  3. Having knowledge about and being able to use the databases, systems and programs that enable following the scientific literature of one’s research area of interest.
  4. Knowing how to reach the knowledge and data on other sub-fields of psychology and other scientific fields; being able to apply this information to his/her area of expertise.
  5. Having basic knowledge about and being able to use the equipment that can be applied in the field of Traffic and Transport Psychology for measurement and evaluation purposes.
  6. Being able to develop measurement tools, inventories, training modules, and prototypes to be used in his/her research area.
  7. Being able to interpret new information in the light of acquired advanced theoretical knowledge and as a result creating further research topics.
  8. Regularly following national and international publications, programs, studies and developments related to his/her research field.
  9. Being able to do scientific research on the basis of advanced assessment-evaluation techniques and statistical information, that is, to be able to create a research hypothesis, design a research, collect data, analyse and report the data.
  10. Being able to work in disciplinary and interdisciplinary projects, plan and run these kinds of research.
  11. Being able to examine literature and the media related to his/her own research field, related sub-fields and disciplines through the eyes of an expert; think critically on the obtained data.
  12. Being able to find out culture and case specific, scientific, practical, realistic, reliable and feasible solutions for his/her field related problems.
  13. At scientific activities, being able to express himself/herself effectively in both written and oral English and Turkish.
  14. Being able to communicate effectively with people whom he/she is in interaction at our program and department.
  15. Having individual work and teamwork skills.
  16. Doing all kinds of research, study and application with the guidance of ethical values.
