Program Outcomes

IAM Scientific Computing Ph.D. Program aims to provide students with the following knowledge, skills and behavior: 

  1. They have the knowledge about processes and main areas of scientific computing.
  2. They have the knowledge about current scientific literature, applications and methods used in scientific computing field and the have the critical thinking skills.
  3. They are aware of interdisciplinary approaches.
  4. They are able to come up with research problems and to reach scientific resources in their field, to analyze them and to construct valid arguments and new ideas by interpreting resources.
  5. They are proficient in English language and are able to read published scientific/technical texts.
  6. They are able to share and present their scientific work effectively both in oral and in written form.
  7. They are able to work alone or as a part of an interdisciplinary research group and they work efficiently as a team.
  8. They have the highest academic ethical values.
  9. They have developed the awareness to current scientific computing problems and they have the knowledge and ability to come up with new ideas.
