Program Outcomes

Graduates of Latin and North American Studies Masters’ Program with thesis

  1. Are endowed with necessary knowledge and critical perspective regarding economic, political and socio-cultural history of Latin and North American countries.
  2. Are aware of ontological and epistemological assumptions of different theoretical approaches that aims to understand Latin and North American regions.
  3. Are able to follow current developments in Latin and North American countries both in English and Spanish and analyze those current developments by locating them in their historical context.
  4. Are able to analyze internal regional dynamics of Latin and North American countries.
  5. Able to craft a comparative research between Turkey and Latin and North American countries from disciplinary as well as interdisciplinary perspectives.
  6. Able to design and execute an academic research, analyze his/her research findings, develop an argument (thesis) on the subject matter.
  7. Able to present the findings of his/her academic research and defend his/her argument both in written and oral.
