Program Outcomes

METU PhD Program in Architectural History aims to create the following knowledge, skills and behaviours:

  1. acquire basic and up-to-date information in the field of architectural history, both in local and global levels (knowledge)
  2. have profound knowledge of research methods, paradigms and literature in the field (knowledge)
  3. conduct independent research and study (skills)
  4. collect and use information from different and reliable sources and from archival research (skills)
  5. relate architectural history to other fields and benefit from the knowledge obtained from them (skills )
  6. transmit architectural history knowledge textually and verbally by various communication and presentation tools in an effective way (in Turkish and English) (skills)
  7. create innovative and critical architectural history products such as publications in using knowledge in the field and its subjects (in Turkish and English) (skills)
  8. have ability to use his knowledge in architectural history to teach others (skills)
  9. take the lead in architectural history professional environment ( skills )
  10. use the knowledge and experience gained to contribute to the discipline of architectural history and to the cultural environments (attitudes)
  11. observe up-to-date knowledge and research in the field and be open to lifelong learning (attitudes)
  12. be open to imparting knowledge in different milieus (attitudes)
  13. work within the framework of  disciplinary procedures and code of ethics (attitudes)
