Earth System Science Ph.D. Program
Program Outcomes
Upon graduation, alumni of METU ESS Ph.D. Program:
- reach the data/knowledge, analyze, evaluate, discuss them scientifically and share with society in the field of Earth System Science (in the context of climate change, nature and human use, natural resources, energy, sustainability, economics and policy).
- work on innovative and original scientific research programs as a team member or as the leader of the project, and contribute to science by the outcomes of these projects.
- are very skillful to use, apply and develop research methods.
- do needs analysis, define the problems, evaluate critically and develops/applies methods for the solution of these problems, and develops strategy.
- communicate well in written and spoken English efficiently, participate international projects.
- do scientific publications in high impact journals and other platforms, and contribute national and international scientific literature.
- work on interdisciplinary fields by integrated approach as an expert on different disciplines, and generates original results.
- share and defence his/her original ideas within the team works and/or at different platforms, can be the leader of a team work.
- are sensitive on social, scientific and ethic values at all stages of academic and professional activities.
- share his/her knowledge distinctly for social benefits in the field of interests, contributes to social and economic developments within the context of sustainability.
