Program Outcomes

Students who graduate from the Doctoral Program in Conservation of Cultural Heritage are expected to have acquired the following knowledge, skills and attitudes:

  1. has systematic knowledge – including current studies – related to education, practice, and research/development in the field of cultural heritage conservation, depending on the competencies acquired in graduate studies. (knowledge)
  2. has current theoretical/methodological/technical knowledge at the interfaces of both the cultural heritage conservation discipline and other relevant disciplines that can contribute to the development and/or redefinition of the field of cultural heritage conservation. (knowledge)
  3. has the necessary skills and techniques for problem identification and solving in the field of cultural heritage conservation research and development; develops professional practices through theoretical inquiries. (skill)
  4. conducts novel academic research in a rational manner and discusses the results in a pioneering academic dialogue (in Turkish and English). (skill)
  5. uses theoretical/practical knowledge, methods and techniques related to the field of cultural heritage conservation with an interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary/transdisciplinary approach. (skill)
  6. demonstrates competence, creativity, independence, academic and professional integrity, and decisiveness in developing new ideas and processes related to cultural heritage conservation. (behavior)
  7. makes decisions and takes action by relating a study on cultural heritage conservation to the information and understanding acquired from natural, physical, social, cultural, economic, and administrative data derived from current and historical contexts. (behavior)
  8. exhibits leadership and innovative approaches in working and learning conditions that require holistic/multiple solutions to various problems in cultural heritage conservation, which involve current, complex, unpredictable, and interrelated variables. (behavior)
