Program Outcomes

Graduates of METU Biotechnology Doctorate Program should;

  1. have an ability to reach, evaluate, interpret and apply the current and advanced information wide and deep through scientific research.
  2. have an ability to improve and deepen the current and advanced information in the field at the level of expertise through the research; and to reach original definitions and methods, which bring innovation to the field.
  3. have an ability to comprehend the interdisciplinary interaction related with the field, to use a combination of information from different disciplines, as well as to reach the original results by using specialized knowledge during the analysis, synthesis and evaluation processes of the new and complex ideas.
  4. have an ability to identify and formulate the problems related to the field, to develop solving methods and to apply innovative techniques in the solutions.
  5. have an ability to manage an original research independently,  to comprehend research problems; and to design, apply and finalize the solution.
  6. have high-level skills to be able to use research methods in the studies related to the field.     
  7. be entrepreneur and innovator.
  8. have an ability to work effectively in both disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams, and to lead these teams.   
  9. have an ability to apply oral and written communication by using a foreign language.
  10. have an ability to contribute to the literature of science and technology by publishing outcomes of the academic studies in prestigious academic environments.
  11. have a knowledge of the social, environmental, health and security aspects of the studies in the field and their business life applications, and have an awareness of their restrictions imposed to the applications.  
  12. follow social, scientific and ethical protocols when collecting, interpreting and reporting the data and during all professional activities.
  13. have a mission of community lighting about field related topics, and an ability to transfer information via written and oral declarations.
